I hate the preflight announcements/in-flight security briefs sheerly out of repetitive monotony. The pretty Indigo Flight attendant, who stood right in front of me, with only a seat separating us, looked right into my eyes, waving a magazine. (Probably to catch my attention which was until then glued to my mobile phone) And she said those magic words. “Hello Sexy”. Boom! I reached 60000 feet at Mach 2 speed even before the take-off! How I loved the preflight announcements. Even my wife hasn’t called me sexy recently, after 16 years of marriage, two kids, grey hair and a family pack abs. I know all along I had a killer charisma. (Apparently, nobody else seems to realize this). Here, the Indigo girl in Blue, wearing a Girl Power badge just called me “
Hello Sexy” over the public address system in front of 200 passengers and confirmed my long unacknowledged charm. I suddenly remembered that the Indigo Girls were an inspiration for Chetan Bhagat to pen his last bestseller, the One Indian Girl. Move over and burn CB, it’s Suby time.
I suddenly woke up from my dreams and started to listen to what the girl was saying. She was smiling throughout. However, I felt something amiss, as she kept repeating ‘Hello Sexy”. I know I had irresistible looks but still, this seemed overkill. Then she mentioned something about the book being in the seat pocket. I just picked up the in-flight magazine. I just read the magazine name and my dreams crash-landed. The Flight Indicator for Indigo “6E” is smartly blended as “Hello 6E”. She was trying to sell the in-flight merchandise and saying “Hello 6E”.
I lived happily ever after with my wife on terra firma.
